# OB: Getting Started

## How It Works

Adagio participates in Google Open Bidding (for Google Ad Manager and AdMob) as a demand access partner, enabling publishers to access multiple sources of premium programmatic demand through a single integration.

All auction participation, reporting, and billing remain fully managed through your respective Google platform (Google Ad Manager or AdMob). Adagio does not replace Google’s monetization stack and does not require publishers to use a separate reporting interface to monetize your traffic.

## Integration Steps

{% step %}

### Prerequisites

Before starting the Open Bidding onboarding with Adagio, ensure you meet the following requirements:

* **Active Google Ad Manager (GAM) account**: You must have a live and operational Google Ad Manager (GAM) or Google AdMob account.
* **Bidding Eligibility**: Your Google account must be enabled for Open Bidding (GAM) or Bidding (AdMob).
* **Administrative Access:** You need the necessary administrative permissions to add bidders/ad sources within your Google console.
* **Google Publisher ID**: Have your "Pub ID" ready for identification (the ID used in your `ads.txt` or `app-ads.txt` to indicate your direct link with Google).
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add Adagio as a Bidder

First, locate and select Adagio within your platform's bidding setup. For step-by-step navigation, please refer directly to the official [Google Ad Manager Documentation](https://support.google.com/admanager/answer/10078134) or [Google AdMob Documentation](https://support.google.com/admob/answer/10511265).

Once Adagio is selected, follow the workflow below that matches your account type:

#### Option A: For Ad Manager 360 Publishers

To complete your integration, please complete these two actions (in any order):

* **On Adagio**: Submit your request via [our onboarding form](https://adagioconnect.com/openbidding).
* **In GAM**: Select Adagio from your yield partners list and click Acknowledge to send us the connection request.
* **Approval**: Once your contract is signed on our platform and the connection request is sent via GAM, our team will officially approve your connection.

{% hint style="success" icon="rocket-launch" %}
**Maximize Your Revenue with Direct Pay**\
GAM 360 publishers are eligible for Direct Pay, which delivers significantly higher performance and increased yields by streamlining transaction paths. To learn more and set it up, visit our dedicated [Direct Pay documentation page](/adagio-documentation/open-bidding/direct-pay.md).
{% endhint %}

#### Option B: For non-Ad Manager 360 (Small Business) & AdMob Publishers

This automated workflow allows you to link your Google account and sign the agreement entirely online.

1. **Initiate**: In your Google console, click **Onboard online now** (GAM) or **Sign a new partnership agreement** > **View & Sign** (AdMob).
2. **Onboard**: In the new tab that opens, log in or register your Adagio account, fill in your profile info (company details, role), and accept our Master Terms and Open Bidding Schedule.
3. **Finalize**: Keeping your Google tab open, return to your console and click **Continue** > **Acknowledge** (GAM) or **Go to step 2** > **Acknowledge** **& agree** (AdMob) to activate the connection.

*For all workflows, ensure you assign Adagio to a Yield Group as a final step.*
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Review and Vetting

After submission, Adagio will audit your application and inventory. You can monitor your status within the Google interface:

<table><thead><tr><th width="143.030029296875">Status</th><th>Meaning</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Pending</td><td>Your application is currently under review by our team.</td></tr><tr><td>Approved</td><td>Your setup is verified. Adagio can begin monetizing your inventory.</td></tr><tr><td>Rejected</td><td>Your application does not meet our current inventory criteria.</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
Due to the high volume of applications, Adagio may be unable to provide specific feedback regarding rejected submissions.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Update your ads.txt lines

To monetize your inventory through Adagio on Google Open Bidding, you must declare Adagio and its demand partners as authorized sellers in your ads.txt (and/or app-ads.txt for Apps). Please find the list hereby:

### Update your Consent Management Platform (CMP)

To ensure compliance with global User Privacy regulations (including GDPR, TCF v2.2, and CCPA) and maximize your monetization, you need to update your CMP configuration.

**1. Mandatory Requirement: Add Adagio**

You must add Adagio to your CMP. Without this, your Open Bidding connection cannot operate.

**2. Strong Recommendation: Add Demand Partners**

We strongly advise adding our demand partners as well. If they are missing from your CMP, advertisers relying on user segmentation signals will block their bids on your inventory, significantly reducing your revenue.

👉 Refer to our [GDPR/CCPA/TCF Compliance](/adagio-documentation/operations-and-support/standards-and-compliance/gdpr-ccpa-tcf-compliance.md) guide to get the complete list of Vendor IDs to add.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://adagio-io.gitbook.io/adagio-documentation/open-bidding/ob-getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
